About Us
શ્રી સૌરાષ્ટ્ર લેઉવા પટેલ સેવા સમાજ વડોદરાની શરુઆતનો ઇતિહાસ આ મુજબ છે. સન ૧૯૮૪-૮૫ ના અરસામાં સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભયંકર દુષ્કાળ ની પરીસ્થિતિ ને લીધે ઘાંસચારાની તીવ્ર તંગી સર્જાઈ. આ પરિસ્થિતિ ને લીધે સૌરાષ્ટ્ર ના લેઉવા પટેલો પોતાના પશુ ધન માટે ઘાંસચારાની શોધમાં મધ્ય ગુજરાત વડોદરાની આસપાસ આવવા લાગ્યા. વડોદરામાં આવતા સૌરાષ્ટ્રના લોકોને પોતાના સગા સબંધી ન હોવાને લીધે રહેવાની અને જમવાની ખુબજ મુશ્કેલી પડતી હતી.
આ પરિસ્થિતિ નો વડોદરામાં ધંધા/સર્વિસ અર્થે સ્થાયી થયેલ શ્રી કિશોરભાઈ મોવલીયા તથા શ્રી ધીરુભાઈ બુહા ના ધ્યાનમાં આવતા તેમને એવો વિચાર આવ્યો કે આપણે ભાઈઓ માટે કંઇક એવું કરવું જોઈએ જેથી તેમને રહેવાની મુશ્કેલી ના પડે. આ વિચારને લઈને તેમને વડોદરામાં સ્થાયી થયેલ બીજા સૌરાષ્ટ્રના લેઉવા પટેલો નો સમ્પર્ક કર્યો.
What the Samaj Does
Our activities and services for the families of the Samaj.
- Boys hostel with Wi-Fi for higher studies, with support for students from economically weaker families.
- Cultural, educational, health and other service activities through the year.
- Free notebooks for all students of the Samaj, and prizes to encourage bright students.
- Honouring distinguished people who have made a valuable contribution to the Samaj.
- A permanent Marriage Bureau committee to help the sons and daughters of Leuva Patel families find a life partner.
- The Lagnasetu matrimonial selection fair, organised every year.
- Free health check-up camps and blood donation camps.
- Partnerships with various organisations to encourage sports.
- Samaj facilities for life members’ social occasions at nominal rates, and for needy social organisations at concessional rates.
- ‘Antarang’, the quarterly magazine of the Samaj.
- Relief work in times of natural disasters.
- Temporary stay for students coming from out of town.
- Samaj-run physiotherapy and fitness centre with modern treatment at concessional rates for every community.
- Pathology tests at concessional rates through Amin Pathology Laboratory.
